Volhard Dog Nutrition (VDN) healthy pet food products have been developed for pet owners who only want the best for their dogs and who want them to live long and healthy lives. A few key points:
VDN products use only human-grade ingredients produced by U.S. growers.

What Exactly Do You Feed Your Dogs?

Rescue Diet
Rescue is a dehydrated functional food blend developed by Wendy Volhard which is anti-inflammatory, hypoallergenic and gluten-free. Rescue is crafted in small batches with whole food ingredients and herbs to support the liver, kidney, heart, lungs, stomach and digestive tract.
Holistic Proactive Veterinarians agree that a fresh, healthy and balanced higher protein, low-glycemic diet that includes functional foods can help dogs reduce inflammation while preventing, managing and overcoming serious health conditions.
When mixed with 80/20 beef and water, the foundation mix provides a complete and balanced diet for dogs who are suffering from sensitivities to grains, experiencing chronic ear and skin inflammation and inflammatory diseases and need a food low on the glycemic index.
The Volhard Dog Nutrition Rescue Diet was formulated to exceed the nutritional levels established by the NRC and AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages, including the growth of large size dogs. Rescue exceeds both the AAFCO and NRC essential amino acid requirements. This diet allows a dog to produce taurine naturally.
Natural Diet Foundation 2
NDF2 is a dehydrated foundation mix developed by Wendy Volhard which allows you to add your own protein to provide your dog with a fresh, healthy and balanced diet. NDF2 is crafted in small batches with whole food ingredients and herbs to support the liver, kidney, heart, lungs, stomach and digestive tract.
The Natural Diet recipe has been clinically tested on different breeds, sizes, and ages of dogs in different regional locations for over 40 years and has improved the health, vitality, and longevity of dogs.
The Volhard Dog Nutrition Natural Diet Foundation 2 (NDF2) was formulated to exceed the nutritional levels established by the NRC and AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages, including the growth of large size dogs.

We have tried almost everything, truly too many things to list here. But it is worth noting that every dog is different and taking the time to really hone in on your dog’s reactions to it’s diet requires patience and fantastic observational skills. There is always a chance that this food won’t work for your dog, but after everything we have been through, we wouldn’t bet against it.
If you are concerned your dog is not getting optimal nutrition, OR your dog is having potential food-related issues (inflammation, skin/ear itching, digestion problems, etc…) we would highly recommend at least trying this food out. It has changed our dog’s lives and the relief of not having to keep trying new things, checking for coat changes, energy levels, dealing with allergies, etc… is honestly priceless. A weight has been lifted and we are happy to be part of the Volhard family!
